Process
Conducting a focus group is an iterative, four step process.

Design:

  • Objectives – determine what you want to learn from the research
  • Sample – determine who you want to talk to
  • Location – pick where the groups will be held
  • Incentive – decide participants will receive for their time and feedback
  • Timeline – agree on timeline that meets everyone needs

Discussion Guide Writing:

  • Draft – first draft is created based on initial meeting
  • Revisions – changes are made until the best guide is designed

Launch

  • Focus groups are conducted

Reporting

  • 2 to 3 page topline report; PowerPoint if requested
